Memorial Day

Memorial Day started with the Tooth Fairy visiting Grady for the 3rd time.  He was super proud because he pulled this one out all by himself!  4 shiny quarters is what our Tooth Fairy brings.  He did ask why the other kids in his class got 2, 5,10 and 20 dollars for their teeth.  I really didn't have an answer I could honestly give a six year old so I told him, " I have no idea."  Thanks people...  Seriously, $ 20?!?

We spent our day at the pool, and also celebrating Grammy Elaine's birthday.  It was a really fun day, especially after the sun came out!
We took a little swim break for some hamburgers.
Cole-man got a cut from one of his many falls from running around the pool deck- for those of you who know him I know you are shocked... Ha!
They had this inflatable water slide that was really cool according to Goose.
Grady entered some contests - here he was doing the limbo!
Cannonball contest- winner for creativity- a cannonball with a twist!

He also got honorable mention for the dance contest... I heard this was pretty great and yet interesting! Ha!

Cole enjoyed throwing every single toy in the water so we could spend our time picking all of them up.  Fun times!  I also think I said the phrase, "We use walking feet at the pool." 10,362 times.  When the moms sitting in the lounge chairs with their margaritas and People magazine say to me how much they miss those days of chasing their little ones all over the place I want to slap them- Is that okay for me to say this aloud?!? Kidding... Kind of.  ;-)

All smiles for another fun day at the pool!

After the pool Cole went home for another non-nap and G and I met Brody, Kate and Michelle at the movies to see EPIC.  It was really cute! We grilled chicken, shrimp and veggies for dinner and had Red Velvet bundt cake for Grammy's birthday dessert.

Anybody ready for summer yet?!? ME!!

  1. If you figure out a successful way to manage running around the pool, PLEASE share! I've gone from, "Colton, please remember to walk." to "WALK NOW!" and neither seem to be effective : (
