Back to School

Even though ending summer vacation with my kids is difficult to say the least, going back to work with these ladies is awesome!
We laugh, a lot, and have fun every step of the way.  One of the things we laugh at...
Beep, beep!
This is Grady and his 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Kinney.  He's going to have a wonderful year and learn a bunch!
Goofballs...
Our first day of school pictures!
We were a little tired...

He insisted on wearing this TMNT shirt for his first day.  Apparently, he got lots of compliments- ha!

I had to get a first official day picture with Cole and Stephie too!  We LOVE Stephie!
Cole, 3 1/2
First day success ice cream!!  Yummy TCBY!  We all deserved it!

When Mimi Comes to Town...

When Mimi comes to town we ALL jump for joy!
Laundry gets folded, homemade meals get fixed, both the kids get read to every single night, treats get made, toys we didn't know we even had get played with, snuggles and pajamas happen every day, the dogs get loved on, we laugh until we cry, etc. etc.

My mom is seriously a rock-star.  She's a giver, listener, friend, helper, and the most selfless person I've ever known.
I try to be even half the mom she was/is every day... ;-) I honestly don't know how we'd have done it last week without her.
She came for my teacher work week and went above and beyond.  She even took Grady to Legoland!

My only wish is that I was home more for some of my own Mimi snuggles. Until next time...
We are so thankful for Mimi!!!

End of Summer

We spent the last week or so of summer doing all the last things we wanted to do, and a few little have-to-dos!

We dropped a few things off at school and later that night I discovered close to 50 selfies Cole had taken with my phone.  Crazy boy...

We played and played and played and most days stayed in our pajamas until close to noon.
I tried a new recipe and it was delicious!
We discovered Cole loves Panda Express!  Check out the rice on the floor.
We went to sliders and fries night at the club and these two had a serious talk...
We swam at Tiffany's house- sadly no pictures.

We finally made it to the Perot Museum- so much fun!

 Dino IMAX
Building cars
Rocket launching
Obviously he had a little help from mom

Cole and Grady absolutely loved the Build It area!  They would have spent 2 more hours there if I let them.  Cole ran around doing everything like a crazy-man without a care in the world and Grady wanted his car and rocket to be perfect, in every way.  Such a perfect example of their personalities.

Cutest lil paleontologist ever!
Digging for dinosaur bones

Rockin out
We went with Drew to Trophy Clubs water park... It was awesome!  The boys had a blast.

Baseball practice started and Grady had a few different friends over...
Finally, Grammy Elaine offered to stay with Cole so we could take Grady out for a back-to-school treat.  We went to Academy, Mi Dia and had Bahama Bucks.  He loved the time with just us and I'm sure Cole enjoyed his time with Grammy Elaine too!
It's been a wonderful summer.  Even with Daddy's knee surgery, we had the best time.  We did a lot of pajamas and resting.  We played and watched movies.  We swam, a lot!  We made the best out of a stinky situation and learned that family and taking care of others is what's most important.  Life is good!  Can't wait for summer 2015... may there be no surgeries involved!

Boys Night, Bingo and Birthday

The summer is winding down and we're finishing off all of our summer-fun-to-do-wish-list items!

Grady asked Brody to stay the night and then the next day we planned to go to the Perot Museum.

We had fro-yo for an after dinner treat and they stayed up until 11:30 playing Wii and watching the Sandlot.  Fun was had!
This is what happened on the way to the museum...
So this was what we did until daddy picked us up...
and Michelle offered to let the boys play over there while I dealt with car junk.  Thanks MV!

It was memorable, that's for sure!

It couldn't have been better planning to have a girls night to celebrate Tiffany's birthday that evening with Mexican food and Bingo.  It was super fun and I won big-time... $12!

Saturday was Colton's 4th birthday party.  It was dino-rific!!  Happy birthday Colton!

A bounce house, swimming and a piƱata - what could be more fun?!?

One week left... Let the fun keep rolling!
