The night of the 4th Grammy spent the night with us and so the next morning Richard headed in to work and Grammy took Goose to see Despicable Me 2. They had a great time!! Thanks Grammy.
It also meant a date for Richard and I- woo-hoo!! It's been a while since its been just the two of us and not for a party or something. We had F-U-N!!
It started at the movies. We saw World War Z... along with lots of other children. Hello people?!? Don't get me started. Anyway, it was a good zombie movie but also kind of creepy. Ok, I've never seen any zombie movies but there was a plot. It was also somewhat disturbing... The older I get the more realistic things become. I actually can picture these things happening in real life. Our society has changed so much and there are lots of terrible things happening that we know about and lots of others we don't even know that are happening- and maybe that's good or bad?!? Do I think zombies are going to come running down the street- no. Do I think the "Hunger Games" could actually happen... Yes. Sadly. Ok- moving on. Entertaining movie, even better movie watching partner who might or might not think I'm totally cra-cra after reading this post! He, he!
Moving on- dinner at my new favorite place- Mi Dia from Scratch!
It started with a little of this...
(Note to self, some of "this" before zombie movie next time)
And a little bit of that...
Holy guacamole it was good!! My diet was on a temporary 2 1/2 hour hiatus.
Then some of this...
Ending with this...
And this...
Yes, two desserts... I die. Homemade soapapillas and s'mores. I think the last time we had two desserts we had no children...
Everything was so, so delicious and even better it's all made from scratch which means zero calories... I wish!
My honey... Can you tell we are in bliss?!? Eating at a normal hour, ordered what we wanted, and sat quietly = no children along for the ride. I LOVE my children, but a date out every few months is a necessity!! Thank you Grammy!!
We also did a little shopping before heading home. Movies, dinner and dessert, shopping.... perfection!!
When we got back G was still up so we did some fireworks. It was too late the night before so G was super pumped.
We all slept in until a whopping 7:45, so healthy donuts for the kids for breakfast. After that we spent some time at a farmers market loading up on fresh fruit and veggies.
That evening we brought dinner to the Rab's house and they let us swim!
This pic cracks me up- look at Cole's skin compared to Jax and Grady?!?
The kids and grown ups had a really good time. The big boys played baseball in the backyard and I think the two of them would be a good pair on any baseball team! The little boys did a great job mowing the lawn. Thanks guys!
I don't really get the hash tag thing but if I was going to attempt a hash tag it would be something like this...
#cansummernevereverend?!?
Can I even do that?!? I'm so cool. :-)
I keep hearing about Mi Dia. Looked tasty! Love seeing G reading to Cole. So sweet!
