Hodge-Podge Catch-up

March is finally here, and tomorrow is supposed to be 80 beautiful degrees... and then Tuesday is back to highs in the 50's again but still -- spring is on the way!

Last Sunday my cousin Brian and his wife and baby stopped by to stay the night on their way back from Austin.  Baby William is so stinking cute and we loved having them come stay with us!  Grady and Cole have no "official" cousins on either side yet, so they consider my cousins kids their cousins... which technically they are, I think?!?  He was mesmerized by Singing Elmo, as is every child who comes to our house.  Notice I said child, not adult who has to hear the same Elmo songs over and over again!  HA  We had such a great time catching up and can't wait to see this sweet family come our family reunion this summer!

This may seem rather odd to write about, but this was a first for me... I cooked fish for the first time ever for my family.  I am not a fish fan, I do love shellfish though.  I wanted to document this boys because #1 I love you so much that I would cook something I hate for you and #2 I am on a semi health-kick.  I hate to even say it because I will jinx myself but one day when I am feeling up to it I will blog about it, because maybe I could inspire at least one person and I don't want you all to follow in my foot steps - ha!  :)  Healthy dinner... Tilapia, red potatoes and Caesar salad!  Both of you ate the fish = success!

I also whipped up some "healthy" cookies... they were pretty good and the kids liked them, even if Daddy did not!  :)  (2 over-ripe mashed bananas, peanut butter, oats, honey, cinnamon, salt, cocoa powder, chocolate chips and applesauce)  I know they aren't totally good for you, but with no flour, butter or eggs I consider them not too bad.  I adapted a recipe I found on Pinterest!

Our school had it's annual Hoe-down, which is always so much fun!  We met at Mooyah Burgers (Grady's choice) and then headed over for some fun.  There were lots of fun things to do, including a bounce house, games, pony rides, etc.  We couldn't stay for too long because G had his last basketball practice that night as well.

It was western day at school...
My handsome little cowboy!

The weekend followed with back-to-back soccer and basketball games for G.  It was cold, but Grady's team did great and G scored his first goal of the spring season!

I was so excited and cheering that I missed the actual kicking it in - ha!

Sweet Cole has developed quite a "determined" personality...
two spoons for him and there better not be anything anybody has to say about it!
 I love these two...
and this little stinker as well... even if he wants nothing to do with pictures, or eating, or sitting quietly.  This is why we hardly even go out to eat anymore.  Doesn't he look thrilled?!?
He took the hot-dog pieces out of the corn dog and was dipping them in ranch and butter.
Weird child....

On to another busy, busy, busy week!
