Angry Birds Pumpkin Project and a Jack-o-Lantern!
The last few days Grady and I have been working on making his Pumpkin Project for school. At first, he wanted a Darth Vader pumpkin, but quickly decided (with help from mom) that an angry bird pumpkin might be a little easier... He had the best time planning, painting and gluing! I'm so glad that he likes to do homework. Let's hope this is always the case... Ha! Friday they even parade them through the halls at school!
Tonight Grady, Daddy and I sat down and carved our pumpkin. We had such a good time!
Grady is all about getting dirty, and so he loved scooping out all of the "guts" and making a big mess.
He had very specific ideas about wanting square eyes, a triangle nose and a "bat" shaped mouth?!?
"Funny" story - today we were getting out of the car with the project and G dropped it... it bounced about 5 times before it finally hit another car and stopped and the nose popped right off. G's eyes were like saucers and the panic started to set in. I quickly reminded him that I had a hot glue gun at school and we could fix it in 1 minute. Whew, crisis averted. One of the many perks of having your kiddo with you at school!

Cole only was interested for so long.
He spent the evening eating chalk, dirt, sand and crayons instead...

Cole kept saying "hot-hot"
Voila!
Bring on Halloween!!!

Fun Fall Times
Last week was Red Ribbon Week at my school. This really cool BMX Bike group came and did a bicycle safety/stay drug free/stunt show and it was a-w-e-s-o-m-e... all until the part where they ask for volunteers and nobody volunteers so I feel bad and volunteer and then others start walking out and then I try to get out of there and avoid the spotlight but it's too obvious to back out now when everyone will see and you and you will disappoint your students who have now started chanting your name... do you get my drift with that run-on sentence?!? Well, here is the proof that I lost my mind. The chick in the red Rangers shirt is me...
After the stunt, he announced to the crowd that I had shut my eyes. Yes, I did... and I'm proud of it.
Friday night was DATE NIGHT -- WAHOO! We saw Taken 2 at the AMC Eat-In theater. We had never done that before and it was fun!
Friday. a cold front moved in and left us with some beautifully cold, fall weather! I was not too excited to watch a soccer game on Sat morning in 36 degrees, but it was well worth it. G had another totally great game with a goal and some super-awesome defense!
Saturday we also took care of something rather important... we VOTED!
Boys, if you are reading this twenty years later I'm pretty sure you can figure out who Daddy and I voted for. Nevertheless, here are some signs for everybody running. Thank goodness we live in a democratic country where the people get to make decisions about our country's leadership... How about a little R and R?!?
Saturday evening our good friends the Vaughns came over for some fun, food and football! You kiddos played football outside, and then ended up watching the Avengers while us grown ups played cards. Mommy and Michelle stomped Daddy and Justin, even though they cheated. Lesson learned - cheaters-never-win! he, he :) (and don't cheat if your wife blogs and will surely post it...)
This morning we all slept past 8 (insert LOUD cheering) and then had some breakfast and headed out for some pre-Christmas shopping looking and lunch.

We actually played against Grady's old T-ball teammate, Ryland.
It was fun catching up!

Sometimes I think these kids could actually be their own little Avenger group...

Cole was looking so sweet I take to snap a few pics...
Does this not scream "little-man"?!?
Cole is really loving his trucks lately!
So excited while shopping ... not really!
He's soooo cute I could just die. Look at that pouty bottom lip?!?
Not to end this on a gross note, but I will.
Today at lunch I was checking Grady's loose teeth... and what to my wondering eyes should appear...?
TWO grown-up teeth coming in right behind his baby teeth.
Geez - my kids are really growing up!!!
Only three more weeks until Thanksgiving Break!!!
