Utah Trip - Part One

I decided that we just had to escape from the Texas heat this summer for longer than most years... like a full 10 days!  I flew with the kiddos alone on Tuesday and then Daddy joined us Friday night. Our flight was pretty uneventful, other than pulling out and then having to come back and change planes due to a broken THROTTLE / ENGINE.  Geez... at first they were trying to just fix it quickly... no thanks... I'll take a new plane please!  Ha!  I can handle a 3 hour delay no problem... its' w-a-y better than vomit!  The kiddos were great and we were so excited to see Mimi and Papa.

The goal of this trip was to spend every waking second we weren't eating or sleeping outside, and we accomplished that!  With daytime temperatures in the 80's and in the low 50's at night you just can't beat it.  Mimi and Papa have a great house with the really big deck.  This is WONDERFUL for the kids and after we fenced off the one open end, Cole had free reign to run where he pleased!

 Cole perfected the art of "toddler running" while we were here.  

Usually he'd fall when he was laughing too hard to stop.

Cole learned LOTS of things on this trip.

He can now climb up EASILY on furniture and then scares the crap out of me by either jumping or falling off to get where he wants to go.  He also has learned the art of using furniture to get to other things... like deck railings and table tops. 

 I promise we do own pants...

 We also enjoyed ice cream on the deck at night... easy clean up!

The views aren't too shabby either...

We also made some late night trips to hunt for the neighborhood mountain lion and moose, and sometimes we'd throw in a little gelato as well!

 Cole, you insisted on sitting by yourself and feeding yourself!  

You LOVED the White Peach.

 We made a point to take a bath right after dinner.  

We also had some inside playtime and lots of Olympic watching.  

Grady, you LOVED watching the Olympics and will be really sad to see it end today.

More outside play for Cole while Grady was golfing with Uncle Craig, Papa and Daddy.
Grady enjoyed keeping the golf balls clean for the boys, and even got a tip!

 Oh Cole, how you LOVE your Mimi... and the feeling is mutual!  

You learned to say Mimi, Papa and Craig all this week!

 Mimi joined the 21st century and got an iPhone while we were there. 

 She gave you her old phone... you LOVED it and kept dialing all sorts of places!

 You also became obsessed with Mimi's fridge and ice cubes?!?

We also went on a few day trips, to a rodeo and to The Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole and Yellowstone... more to come on those later!
