Utah, August 2016

Each Summer I have been lucky enough to take the boys to Utah for a couple weeks to see my parents while Richard stays home and works.  We really miss Daddy and I know the house is incredibly quiet without us.  But, it is an adventure for the kids and an escape to cooler temps and some relaxation and nature time before heading back to school.  It is honestly one of my favorite trips because there's no pressure and no schedules.  Utah in the Summer is heaven!

This year we tried some new things.  We headed to Olympic Park in Park City to see the museum and training facilities.  It was AMAZING!  The kids had such a good time, that we decided to purchase tickets for the Adventure and Ropes Courses and make a whole day out of it later in our trip.

This was an absolute highlight... the future Olympians were training and landing in the pool.  It was free and Grady (my dare devil) would have sat there all day I think.
Hot tub time!
Hiking around Provo River Falls is always a favorite.

The water was chilly!

Bald Mountain Lookout selfies!

Hiking around Mirror Lake.
The boys love their Mimi!
Picnic lunch!
Deer Valley has concerts at the base of the mountain during the summer and we decided to pack a picnic dinner and give it a try... and boy are we glad we did!  This is the way life should be!  The weather was beautiful and the music was fantastic!  Did I mention it was FREE?!

Back at Olympic Park
Grady was super brave an did everything.  Cole stuck to the low stuff but had a good time too!
We did venture up the chair lift.  It was high enough for me!

Yep, Grady was way up top.  Crazy kid!

One morning Papa took us fishing.  The kids had a great time!

Cole had more fun playing with the live worms than actually fishing.
Grady caught one!
Hiking up to a waterfall!

Horseback riding behind Mimi and Papa's house was a lot of fun!

We ate dinner one night at a restaurant literally on the side of a mountain.
On the way home we saw a moose!

Mimi, Grady, Cole and I took a day trip to Capitol Reef.
What a super fun day it was!

The views were breathtaking!

Grady got good at his sling-shot.
A morning at the local park!
Skipping rocks
Popsicles on the back porch

Hiking behind the house with Grady and Papa

S'mores on the back porch - YUM!

Our end of summer trip to Utah was a huge success!
At the airport on the way home we just happened to run into Cousin Julie, who was headed home too!
Crazy, small world I'd say!
