I LOVE my job! It's hard and fun and challenging and exhausting and soooo rewarding all in one. 99% of the time it's fabulous and I couldn't see myself doing anything else except being a stay at home mom and maybe a party planner on the side- ha!
I mean 6 year olds are always happy to see you and seeing little light bulbs go off every single day is amazing! I teach at a wonderful school, in a fantastic neighborhood, with a super staff and the best team and kids! I mean how could you not love it?!?
We work hard but we play hard too!
Teacher Appreciation Week I was spoiled! We have such a fabulous PTA!
Field day was super fun too!
This year I had the honor of being voted Teacher of the Year for my school. Talk about humbled. My school is full of amazing teachers and I was so touched to be honored as the Wellington ES Toy for 2015-2016!
We got all dressed up and headed out for a fancy dinner and awards ceremony. Mrs. Alday won an award as well and one of my very favorite people on this planet, Dana (Mrs. Hawkins), retired after a zillion years of teaching. I'm gonna miss that smile everyday!
Richard must really love me to get all dressed up, tie and all! He looks so handsome! Also, he has fixed bookshelves and rocking chairs, moved furniture, listened to countless hours of school stories and put up with me in August- people married to teachers deserve awards themselves! Ha!
Speaking of Dana- we had fun at her retirement party at Little Petes! This was our "old" team- I will never forget this group. We've gone through so much together... marriages, babies, graduations, deaths... Just life. I miss us!
I've taught for 17 years and the end is never easy, although the thought of summer coming and vacations makes it a bit easier!!!
Josh and Tiffany hosted their awesome annual Memorial Day swim party to help get us through that last week!
It means senior breakfast too! My first group of WES first graders are graduating this year!!! Quite a few came back to senior breakfast. I loved this group!!!(Harrison, Riley, Emma, Mae, Brecken, Me, Jordan and Colin- Rishab was there too but not in the pic)
The kids both had awesome years. Grady rocked 3rd grade and Cole loved Pre-K! We're so proud of them!
Grady got a couple awards- Math Marvel and All A Honor Roll. 3rd grade is not easy (esp. the ridiculous math state standards) so this was a big accomplishment! He set his goals each 9 weeks and worked really, really hard.
Cole had the most amazing 5 teachers and went to such a great school! They taught him and loved him all year long. They will always have a special place in his heart!
Last day of Pre-K!
