It's Sweet Summertime- Cocoa Beach

The day after school got out we jumped on a plane (or 3 to be exact) and headed to sunny Florida for beach fun with Mimi and Pappa.
The theme of our trip was just c-h-i-l-l and that is exactly what we did.  Especially with Richard's bum knee, which meant no golf (boo), it was a great time for no schedules, beach all day, yummy food and sport watching.

Beach bums...

We went to the beach every single day.  It was glorious!  Grady caught lots of fish with his net and Cole pretended.  We also boogie boarded.  Grady's become quite good and is planning to have Uncle Craig teach him to surf next summer.

We spent some quality time at the pool as well.  This kid...

We did manage to sneak in a trip to the club for breakfast.  Bacon makes everything better, right Cole?  This was piece number 12 I think.  It's also not a trip out with these crazies without "somebody" announcing to the whole restaurant what happened in the bathroom.  Glad #2 works for you, buddy - the whole restaurant was thrilled.  Just keeping it real... On another note- potty training is going well!
We went on a couple night walks, chased crabs and collected every single sea shell, broken or not, on the beach.

What a storm cloud... Love him!
We did take a day trip to St. Petersburg to see the Rays play the Cardinals.  The seats were awesome and we got to see the Cards win!

They also have a touch tank where we got to feed and pet the rays- it was so cool!

Before the game we got there a pretty early so we dropped by to see the old house we lived in when a was 3-8 or so.  The tennis court was still there in the back- I wonder if it's still used for big wheels and bike riding more than actual tennis?!?  Ha!

The boys got in some good wrestling and basically because we were on vacation we didn't care!
Thank you Mimi and Papa for being such wonderful hosts, as usual.  Our trip was just what we needed to wind down from a busy, busy spring.  Until next summer... and maybe I'll bring a real camera next time.  :-)
