Soccer and Basketball

Basketball and soccer for Grady overlap a couple of weeks, and we are actually lucky enough to have no conflicting games so it works out pretty well.  Other than being exhausted by Saturday afternoon, it was a really fun sports filled day for my Goose!  When I asked him if he had fun playing both in one day he replied, "We won both, Mom."  This says it all for my competitive little boy!  Believe me when I say that we have conversation after conversation about how fun it is to just play and the scores don't matter and winning and losing are equally good for lots of reasons...  Ha!  He comes by it naturally...  Anyway, here are some action shots from the day.

Grady is playing for the Comets again this season and 3 of the players are returning, which makes it fun.  They are all really good players... this is going to be an awesome season!

Somebody is excited for the first game...

 It was chilly!

They play 4 quarters and each kiddo plays 2... this is what the bench looks like when 3 are playing and 3 are sitting and "watching" -- Ha!
Yep, that's my kid.  Normally I would have gone over to break that mess up, but it was so cold I thought it was smart that they were being silly...

It's a win - 6-1!  No goals for G today, but great hustle, assists and defense.

Basketball is indoor and so much warmer nicer...

 Warming up...

Look at the air he gets when he shoots... amazing considering I get negative air when I jump!
This is what Cole does during the game... food = entertainment.
I know, I'm such a great mom... and yes, McDonald's is what he's eating... and yep, he ate the fries first, I didn't remove them from the oh-so-healthy happy meal.
Don't worry, he finished it all off with a sucker and juice.

He cracks me up with his games faces and poses...

 Hands-up -- defense!
G always races whoever is by him down the court... the competitions never stop... Geez

He is worn out by the end of this game... look at those red cheeks - mine used to get the same way!
All of the kids have gotten so great at passing, dribbling and shooting.
Landon and Richard are such great coaches!

Another win and 4 points scored by G!

I HEART Family Pictures...

My sweet friend Missy, who I used to teach with is a super talented photographer... and when I say talented, I mean as good as it gets.  She captured my boys faces just how I always want to remember them.  She got a good mix of "happy" and "serious" shots, and she was so relaxed and laid back about it.  This was the most stress-free photo session we've ever had done, even though Cole is at the very.most.difficult.age.to.photograph.age ... in my opinion.  She got so many good ones, I'm having trouble selecting which ones to order and trying to figure out where some big canvases could fit in my house!  Now that is a good problem!  She picked the perfect spot and then just kind of took pictures as the kids ran around.  It was kind of "organic" the way she got the pictures for the most part, and those are always my most favorite pictures.  You know the ones that just kind of happen and maybe they aren't looking or smiling but you capture that sweet face they always make?!?  Anyway, a HUGE thanks to Missy!

Oh my, this is sooooo real life!

LOVE this one - sweet brothers!

I love the colors in this one...

This pic makes me so happy...
My boys have the best Daddy!

This is such a "Cole" face...

And this is such a "Grady" face!

There is something so special about the first born...
