4th of July Weekend

The 4th was on a Friday this year so we had a nice, long weekend together!

This week in the mornings Grady had tennis camp which gave Cole and I a little time just the two of us... sweet lightning-obsessed boy!  He likes to help me feed our fish called Sparky, which he calls Dorothy after the Elmo's fish.  We also squeezed in some pool time with friends at the Rabs.
I know you're shocked he wanted to watch Cars and play Cars...

Cole and I got a little exercise in before picking him up and then we all walked/ran home.  Pushing a 35 pound kid in a jogging stroller is tough work!  Cole tells me often, "Go faster Mommy, just like Lightning McQueen."
That night I went out to dinner with friends...we all agreed that while sitting under the misters feels good, it's not fabulous for the hair!  Ha!
The next day Daddy got off work a little early and we headed to the pool.  Cole's first time with cotton candy- he loved it!
Cole showed off his muscles...
And made silly faces.
Then we met the Rabs for dinner and got some Beth Marie's for "bessert" (dessert) as Cole calls it.  (Notice the ice cream faces...)
The 4th - patriotic pictures!

We invited Grammy to come over to play.  We swam, had yummy dinner, and then went to see fireworks.  It was a wonderful day!
This was the first time Cole stayed up and went with us.  He loved it!
When we got home we let Goose play some with sparklers and poppers - boys and their fireworks!

Saturday we invited friends over for slip-n-slide fun and food.  I had fun making treats...
The kids had fun as well...

Ladies picture --our yummy marshmallow pops!
Sunday my cousins Brian and Katie and their two year old son, William, came in town for a night passing through.  He and Cole had a ball playing cars and it was fun catching up!  We can't wait to see them again at the Speight Family reunion in a few weeks.

Somebody also lost his other front tooth... cutest smile EVER!
It was such a wonderful long weekend with my boys.  Wednesday is Daddy's big ACL surgery- I plan to pack tons of fun into the next two days before we're house bound for a while!
