"I'm Totally an Obnoxious Soccer Mom" would be a more appropriate title. Grady's first soccer game was today... and it was awesome! Crazy, stressful, frustrating at times and at the same time so joyful. When you see your "baby" out there it is surreal. I cheered for T-ball for 2 seasons and never EVER felt like this. I guess the difference is baseball is more individual and with lots of breaks and down time?!? I seriously felt and acted possessed. My inner competitiveness got the best of me. I screamed, I pulled on my hair, I said curse words under my breath. I even kicked my foot like I was kicking the ball. Luckily our good friends were there too, or else it would've been worse. Will there be many more years of these feelings? I realize, it's not the World Cup... and I am totally crazy, but yikes. Next week I have a few options. #1 Stay home - not happening, #2 Add some Bailey's to my morning coffee, #3 Borrow a "relax pill" from somebody, or #4 Put on my big girl panties and get control of myself. I'll keep you posted on my choice(s).

I just had to get some before shots...
We are aware that his socks should be rolled down. G insisted on having them up so if he fell in the stickers he wouldn't get hurt - smart boy!
GO COMETS!!!
Lil man enjoyed the game too!
Thank goodness Daddy and Michelle helped to entertain!
There are 6 kids on Grady's team, but only 3 play at a time and there are no goalies.
A big kick-off!
"Run, kick, get it, go, faster, that way"...
No wonder the kids seemed confused.
BTW - I was not the only psycho screaming. I might have been the loudest however.
After the game the kids all ran through this tunnel of parent arms. Never seen that before but it was cool. We'll have to join in next time!
Doesn't he look tired?!?
We realized that about half way through the game Grady was playing against another little boy that he played T-ball with last season - Ryland. It was so fun getting to see old friends!
Justin, Michelle, Brody and Kate came to see Grady's first game.
Talk about sweet... G was soooo excited to have people there to cheer him on!
LOVE these kids!
Grady, we are so proud of you! You hustled, and ran all over that field. You stopped a goal or two and got some good dribbling in. You told us after the game that "It was like fighting." It's funny... you spend the first 5 years of their lives telling them to share, take turns, don't push, etc. and then all the sudden they are supposed to do the opposite. Kind of a hard transition! I think you are really going to LOVE soccer! Now if we can just get your mom to chill a little...
He seriously played a GREAT game! I'm for option #2 next week! Let me know how that goes!!!
