Cole's 4th Birthday

Dear Cole,

You are finally 4 years old!  You've been waiting for a while now because 4 is your favorite number.  It's hard for us to believe that you were born four years ago, sweet boy.
You are still so, so sweet and funny.  You are developing quite a sense of humor and make us laugh constantly.  You love to copy Grady's jokes but butcher them and you just laugh and laugh.  You repeat commercials and love to sing and dance.  You are tough and have constantly bruised knees and legs.  You are pretty laid back but if you get mad you explode... It's kinda funny.  You go to your room, suck your thumb and snuggle your B's.  In about 10-15 minutes you come out and announce, "I'm happy now!"  You are smart and have a great vocabulary.  You love puzzles and books.

Your favorite song is Still I Fly from Planes Fire and Rescue and Everything is Awesome from the Lego Movie.  Your favorite color is blue and your favorite restaurants are McDonalds and Mi Cocina.  Your favorite foods are cookies, cake, gummies, rice, beans, nuggets, chicken flautitas, berries, chips and salsa, guacamole, bread, crackers, eggs, sausage and bacon.  Breakfast I your favorite meal and you love snacks.  You love Paw Patrol and Blaze and the Monster Machines.  You still like cars and trucks but you also like Rescue Bots and Ninja Turtles.

You sleep in a big boy bed and absolutely love your "Bs" (blankets) and the many stuffed animals you sleep with.  You are an early riser and would stay up late too if you had your way.  You aren't too fond of naps but take one most days unless we are running around or at Grady's games. You are absolute sunshine when you wake up if it's on your own... if we have to wake you up, watch out!

"Coley" "Cole-Monster" and "Leonardo" (your fav ninja turtle) are just a few of your nicknames.

You go to Stephanie's house each day while Grady and Mommy are at school and you adore her.  She says you are perfect!  Your best friends there are Drew and Dex.  You are very social and love to play with your friends or any kids.

You wear a size 5 shirt and size 4 pants/shorts or an XS.  You wear a size 12 shoe.  You are tall and skinny!  You weigh about 35-36 pounds and are    about 40 inches tall.

You absolutely worship your brother Grady and even though you two fight some you play really well together.  I love your special bond even though you're 4 years apart.

You are going to play Blastball this Spring and are excited.  You did not like skiing this Winter but we'll try again next year.  You are a little timid trying new things and going fast or if things are a little scary but you are SUPER TOUGH.  It's an odd combination.
You love playing outside, wrestling and play fighting.  You love swords and nerf guns.  You like the sandbox and balls.  You love playing Mario Cart on the WiiU.  You are such a boy!
Cole, you absolutely complete our family. You have the kindest heart and are a lover.  Your smile is infectious and your loud over laugh is precious.  The freckles that sprinkle over the top of your nose and cheeks make me smile.
Happy 4th birthday sweet Coley!  We love you more than ice cream and guacamole.

Love,
Mommy

Spring Break Trip - Utah 2015

The little boys and I flew to beautiful Utah for spring break to visit Mimi, Papa and Craig.
The weather was gorgeous and the skiing was awesome.  Most of the snow around the house had melted or was melting but the mountains still had plenty.
Grady and I decided to take a hike to see if we could find the neighborhood moose
that had been hanging out the last week.
We were sitting up on the water tower looking down on the house and neighborhood- what a view!  No luck seeing the moose then but we did see "Flo" a few mornings on the hill right next to the house.  So super cool!
Mimi got Grady some new duds...
We saw lots and lots of deer.

The tooth fairy had to make a visit.
We skied lots of days.  The views were amazing!

We tried out Park City for the first time and loved it.

Grady skied his first blacks this trip- thanks to Uncle Craig - who is practically an expert!
This kinda freaked me out...
We celebrated Uncle Craig's birthday with homemade cheesecake- yummy Mimi!
Wrestling and playing with Papa
Mimi watched Cole while the rest of us skied most days.  Love you Mimi!
Shoveling the driveway in shorts to burn some energy.
The sunsets never get old.
I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have such amazingly giving and loving parents and the kids are lucky to have such fun grandparents.  Can't wait until next time!
Boy we missed Daddy, but Spring Break trips are the BEST!!

Snow Days

So in the last 2 weeks we've had a total of 3 snow Days... and I suppose that's not too rare in North Texas but at the end of February and early March I'd say it's almost unheard of.
When we get "snow days" here it's usually ice and snow and everybody runs to the store to stock up and then hibernates until it's gone because it's exciting and Texas people don't know how to drive in that mess!  Everything closes down!

I personally LOVE it and don't mind having to make up a couple days here and there.

We bake, clean, catch up on laundry, paint furniture, get out art supplies, clean out closets, stay up late, sleep in, stay in our pajamas all day, watch movies and the BEST part by far is the snow playtime outside.   Snowball fights, splashing in puddles and sledding galore!

Today just happened to be cold but beautifully sunny with no wind, so we spent a couple hours outside down at the park.  I had to drag the kids away because they were drenched, muddy and dripping.  The kids were in heaven... and Mommy was too!
Spring Break is next week and the littles and I are headed to snowy Utah!
